Moving
to regional New South Wales wasn’t a step back for my career, it was a step closer to what matters. After finishing my accounting degree in
Sydney, I wanted to be near family in Tamworth, but as an ambitious graduate majoring in financial planning and taxation, I refused to
compromise on my professional growth. I needed a high-quality firm. When I researched the region and spoke to mates in the industry, one
name kept coming up: Forsyths.

you’re finishing high school, everyone talks about escaping. But there is a quiet, beautiful power in choosing to stay. Growing up in
Gunnedah, my family and my roots weren’t things I wanted to leave behind. I was ambitious and determined to get my degree, but I wanted to
do it in the place I loved. When I looked for a workplace that would value my drive straight out of school, I found Forsyths.

you had told a teenage Lara Gill growing up in Canberra that she would one day be a Principal and Senior Financial Adviser in regional New
South Wales, she probably would have laughed. Back in high school, she didn’t even know what a financial planner was. She was a city girl
